Pop-off pressures are (don't quote me on this) around 1300-1700lbs. for most diesel engines IIRC, so they can get a little noisy, especially when it's cold out.Feb 21, 2020. #1. New to the forum. Some people do find different brand oil seems to quieten the noise some but experimentation is key for some because not all oils act the same in all engines.. lb7s are notorious for making ticking noises, it has to do with the tolerance in the engine. When at idle (in park or drive doesn't matter) there is a loud ticking noise coming from what sounds like drivers side rear of engine. It is only at idle as soon as throttle is given it goes away. At first I didn't think anything of it but it keeps getting louder and louder.

I have a knocking noise upon deceleration on my 2017 duramax Silverado.. It happens between 1600-1100 rpm. As I decelerate between this range, it will start to knock at around 1600 then go away at around 1500 then start again around 1400 and stop at around 1200 and a third time at 1100.
