Jun 7, 2010 · Been searching but i can't find it so i'll ask. I'm using a getrag 260 with my m50 and i want to replace the rear main seal and the pilot bearing while the engine is out. I read somwhere that you have to use a different pilot bearing, is that true? oR i can i just use the one out of an e36? I'm talking about the tiny bearing in the back of the ... However make sure it is a GL-4 75w90 gear oil. Do not use a GL-5 oil in the transmission. While we're at it, the differential takes a 75w90 GL-5 gear oil. Many prefer the Red Line 75w90. You really need access to a press to do it all properly, and a 30mm thin walled deep socket (I made one) to undo the output shaft nut.
